THE SPACE BETWEEN THE BREATHS

Amongst the cafés, shops, bars and apartments, urban art weaves its way through the streets of Williamsburg, Brooklyn and this short film captures and aims to celebrate and share these hidden works created by contemporary street artists. Walking the fast-paced streets of Williamsburg and wandering the less trodden streets, I came to deeply appreciating just how much street art contributes to the atmosphere of the area. The aim of this short is to bring attention to the power of street art and its ability to reimagine streetscapes and buildings and their place in the neighbourhood. Street art connects people with the surrounding of their area and brings a positive feeling towards a suburb. This ever-evolving art form includes mediums such as murals, stencils, stickers, tags and graffiti. I wanted to capture the diverse range of work present in Williamsburg and highlight the way it brings colour, beauty and narrative to the otherwise barren walls of buildings.
